A signal in the picture and a manifest around it
Both entries name what the output carries. One describes credentials attached around the picture, carrying the model and the platform. The other describes a signal written into the picture itself. As of 2026-09-22.

Inclusion rule. One row per question on which these two entries can be compared from their own published pages. Questions neither vendor addresses are left out rather than filled with a dash. Order. Fixed order: the mechanism first, then who holds it, then what it leaves behind.

Inclusion rule. The two entries on this page, with the value each one's own pages support in the column they diverge on. Order. Alphabetical by generator name.
1Two layers of one file, with opposite weaknesses
A credential manifest is attached to the container around the picture, which is what makes it readable by ordinary tools and what makes it removable by ordinary handling. A signal written into the picture is the reverse: harder to read, harder to destroy without touching the frame.
These two entries are the clearest pairing of the two arrangements in the register. Both name a public reader, so both are useful to a recipient, and a reader comparing them is comparing failure modes rather than degrees of effort.
2Detail lives on the fragile layer
The manifest row carries specifics: the model and the platform used to generate the video. The in-picture row carries existence, checkable on a named platform. So the richer claim is on the layer the vendor itself says can be stripped, and the more durable claim is the thinner one.
That trade is not a choice either vendor made badly; it is a property of where provenance data can be put. A reader who needs to know which model made a file wants the manifest and has to keep the container intact. A reader who only needs to know the file was generated is better served by the signal.
3One vendor publishes the limit of its own mechanism
The service card's companion user guide says a credentials check should indicate the file was generated unless the metadata has been removed. No other vendor in this register publishes a durability caveat of any kind, and the caveat sits on the entry with the richer claim.
The other entry names the transformations its scheme is designed to survive nowhere in its own documentation; that material is on the pages of the organisation that builds the scheme, which is why the scheme is kept as a separate entry here rather than folded into the generator row.

Both values above are read from the vendor pages linked in the rows: docs.aws.amazon.com and ai.google.dev, on 2026-09-22. Each entry has its own page, Amazon Nova Reel and Veo, and the rule for the column they diverge on is on the machine-readable marking column page. Other pairs: one price, two nouns, marking and licence.
