How Sora marks its output
Sora (openai.com) is documented in a system card rather than on a price list, and it is the first entry here to fill the machine-readable field: C2PA metadata on all assets, plus a visible moving watermark on downloads. As of 2026-09-22.

1Three provenance layers, listed together and priced at none of them
The system card's provenance section lists what the vendor's provenance tooling for its own products will include at general availability: C2PA metadata on all assets, a visible moving watermark on videos downloaded from sora.com or the Sora app, and internal detection tools that help assess whether a video or audio clip came from those products. Three layers, described as a set, with no plan, tier or setting attached to any of them anywhere in the document. The tense is the vendor's and is kept: this is a list of what the tooling is stated to include, read on the day the row was written.
That is the opposite shape to the plan-gated rows in this register, where the mark exists to be removed by a purchase. Here the mark is described as part of how the product works, and the paid field is recorded as not documented because the page that was read attaches no plan condition to it. That is a statement about this document, not a claim that no plan difference exists.
2A moving watermark and an internal detector are unusual in different ways
Moving is the load-bearing word in the visible layer. A static corner mark can be cropped away with the corner; a mark that travels has to be tracked across the frame to be removed cleanly. No size, path or duration is published, so the register records the wording and stops there, but the adjective is worth keeping because it is the only description of a mark's behaviour anywhere in this record.
The detection layer runs the other way. C2PA metadata is a standard anyone with a reader can check, while the internal tools are described as the vendor's own, which means the strongest detection route in this entry is the one an outside party cannot use. Both facts are recorded separately for that reason: what a file carries and who can read it are different questions.
