At which step the mark gets written
Two entries say where in the pipeline their mark is applied: one at the moment content is created, the other at compositing. The others describe a mark without locating it, which leaves open whether intermediate files carry it. As of 2026-09-12.

Inclusion rule. Entries read against one question: does a public page locate the marking step. A vendor that describes a mark without locating it is recorded as not stated. Order. Entries that locate the step first, earliest step first.
1Earlier is a different guarantee, not a stronger one
A mark written at generation is on everything the model produces, including drafts nobody will publish. A mark written at delivery is on the thing that ships. Those answer different questions: the first is about provenance of every artefact, the second is about disclosure to whoever receives the finished work.
Neither placement is a better version of the other, and treating them as points on one scale is the most common error in coverage of this subject. This site keeps the step as its own field so the two cannot be collapsed.
2The unstated rows are the ones with practical consequences
Four entries describe a mark and never say when it is applied. For a production that exports intermediate clips for review, approval or hand-off, that is the difference between files that carry a mark and files that do not, and it cannot be resolved from any published page.
It is also a question a vendor could answer in one sentence. That none of the four has is a fact about how these pages are written: they are selling a plan, and the step in the pipeline is not something a plan table has a column for.
3What this means for reconstructing a file's history
If the step is unstated, the presence or absence of a mark on any given file tells you less than it appears to. An unmarked clip might be from a plan that removes marks, or an intermediate from a pipeline that marks at delivery, and nothing published distinguishes them.
That is worth stating plainly because the opposite assumption is easy to make: that an unmarked file means somebody paid to remove the mark. On the published evidence, it does not mean that.
