What each generator documents about marking its output

Synthesia's free plan and a mark called a logo

Synthesia's free plan does not carry the line about removing the Synthesia logo, which the paid plans do. The word watermark appears nowhere in the plan features at all. As of 2026-09-22.

One behaviour, two vocabularies, one of them searchableThe mark on this product is named as a logo and the paid feature is its removal. The word watermark is absent from the plan features, so a question phrased with the standard term does not match the page that documents the behaviour, and the vendor goes missing from answers about it.The usual termThis vendor's termThe noun usedWatermarkThe Synthesia logoThe paid line readsWatermark-free outputRemove Synthesia logoWhat it impliesA provenance mark, shape unstatedA fixed brand markFound by a term searchYesNoWhy the substitution gets a row of its own

How the reading was takenRead from the absence of a paid feature line, whose subject is named as a logo rather than a watermark.

Inclusion rule. One row for the value, one for the sentence or absence behind it, one for the method. Nothing here is drawn from output, support replies or coverage by anyone else. Order. Fixed order: the value, then its evidence, then the method.

Carried by layout, not by words: the generators whose free tier answer takes the same form. Recorded 2026-09-22.

1Vocabulary as a retrieval problem

A reader who arrives at this grid looking for the word watermark leaves with nothing. The mark is named as the Synthesia logo, and the paid feature is the removal of it. The product behaviour is ordinary; what is unusual is that the standard term for it is absent, which makes the row invisible to anybody searching by term rather than reading the page.

That is a live problem now that most such searching is done by software. A question asked as which video tools watermark free output cannot match a page that never uses the word, so this vendor is systematically missing from answers about a behaviour it does document. The register records the vendor's own term and notes the substitution as a separate row.

2A logo and a watermark are not obviously the same object

The two words carry different implications. A logo suggests a fixed brand mark, probably in a corner, probably on every frame. A watermark suggests something applied to assert provenance, possibly moving, possibly tiled. Nothing on the page decides between them, so the register keeps the vendor's noun rather than translating it.

Translating it would be the more useful editorial choice and the less honest record. If this vendor later distinguishes a logo from a watermark, a row that had quietly normalised the word would show no change at all, and the change would be precisely the interesting event.

3What the free plan's silence rests on

The free plan is described by what its list omits, so this cell belongs to the same evidence class as four other rows and carries the same fragility: the reading has to be redone whenever the grid is redrawn. There is no sentence anywhere on the page about free output.

Nothing names a provenance standard or a metadata field either. On a product whose output is a synthetic presenter, the pages fill the two visible-mark columns, avoid the usual word for the mark, and say nothing at all about what the file carries inside.
