Amazon Nova Reel fills this column twice over
Amazon Nova Reel names two mechanisms: an invisible watermark on all videos, and Content Credentials on version 1.1 built on C2PA and carrying the model and platform that produced the file. As of 2026-09-22.
| The reading | What it holds |
|---|---|
| The recorded value | Invisible watermark plus C2PA Content Credentials |
| The vendor's own words | An invisible watermark on all videos, plus Content Credentials on 1.1 built on C2PA. |
| How the reading was taken | Read from a service card naming both mechanisms, with the inspection route and the caveat from the user guide. |
Inclusion rule. One row for the value, one for the sentence or absence behind it, one for the method. Nothing here is drawn from output, support replies or coverage by anyone else. Order. Fixed order: the value, then its evidence, then the method.

1Two layers, and what each one carries
The invisible watermark is a signal in the picture, applied to everything the model generates, with a detection solution that can check for its existence. The Content Credentials are a manifest around the picture, built on a named standard, and they carry specifics: the model and the platform used to generate the video.
That second detail is unusual. Most of this column is occupied by the name of a scheme; here the card says what the manifest contains. A reader inspecting such a file learns not only that it was generated but by which model on which platform, which is the difference between a flag and a provenance record.
2A public inspection route, named as such
The card says Content Credentials can be inspected by dropping a generated video into publicly available tools such as Verify. Publicly available is the phrase that matters: the party holding the file can check it without asking the vendor for anything.
Compare the other generator in this register that names a standard. Its detection tooling is described as internal, so the same kind of claim about the file comes with no way for a recipient to act on it. Two filled cells, and only one of them is useful to somebody who did not generate the file.
3The caveat is the sentence to carry away
The user guide adds that such a check should indicate the file was generated unless the metadata has been removed. That is a vendor stating the limit of its own mechanism, in writing, and no other vendor in this register does it. A manifest lives outside the picture, and ordinary handling can take it off.
Read across the two layers, the caveat also shows why they are recorded as separate facts. The fragile layer is the one that carries the detail; the robust one is the invisible signal, whose detection solution is not described as publicly available. Durability and readability sit on opposite layers here.
