What the free tiers put on your file
All four generators with a free tier mark the output. Kling AI states it directly. The other three are read from a missing line on a plan table, which is a weaker kind of evidence and is recorded here as such. As of 2026-09-12.
| Entry | What is published | Detail |
|---|---|---|
| Kling AI | Stated | Brand watermark on the free Basic plan |
| LTX Studio | By omission | No watermarking is absent from the free feature list |
| Pika | By omission | Watermark-free download absent from the free plan |
| Runway | By omission | Watermark-free output absent from the free plan |
Inclusion rule. Generators on this site with a public free tier. A vendor whose free tier could not be read from a public page is not listed. Order. Alphabetical by vendor name.
1A missing line is evidence, and it is not a sentence
Three of these four rows exist because a phrase that appears on the paid column is absent from the free one. On a feature grid that is designed to mean excluded, and readers are meant to read it that way. It is still not the vendor saying anything, and the day the grid is redrawn the evidence changes without an announcement.
This site keeps the distinction in a column of its own because the two kinds of row behave differently over time. A stated line stays quotable; an omission has to be re-read every time the pricing page moves.
2The tier that produces the most footage is the one described least
Trials, first drafts and the clip somebody liked enough to keep all come from the free tier. It is also the column vendors write least about, because a plan table exists to sell the upgrade rather than to describe the floor.
The practical consequence shows up later, when a finished cut contains material generated weeks apart on two different tiers and nobody recorded which was which. That is a production bookkeeping problem rather than a product one, and it starts here.
3What this page does not tell you
Nothing about what the mark looks like, where it sits, or how large it is. Those vary by aspect ratio and by version, and no vendor here publishes a specification for them, so the site does not carry a column it would have to fill by looking at output.
Nor does it say anything about signals inside the file. That is a separate question with a separate page, because a visible mark and a machine-readable one are different things that happen to be discussed in the same paragraph of most coverage.
